Is Cancer Contagious?

Yes, old news, but perphaps more contagious than we previously thought.

Paul Ewald, PhD thinks many more cancers are caused by infectuous agents in particular viruses.  We already know that viruses are implicated in some cancers such as cervical cancer and liver cancer and the bacteria, Pylori, is associated  with gastric cancer, but is the list much larger?

It is certainly an interesting theory and one with increasing data behind it.  This may be the reason why vitamin D is so effective at reducing major cancer rates by as much as 50%.  Vitamin D improves our immune system’s ability to control viruses and other infections.  For more on this subject check out  his book, Plague Time.

Increased Risk of Diabetes with Statin Drug Use

Statins which are cholesterol lowering drugs such as:
Lipitor and Crestor.  The study, a meta-analysis, was published in Lancet, reviewed 13 studies with 91,140 participants.  The study found 4,278 partipants developed diabetes over 4 years.   This not a huge increase, but it is significant. A similar study of Crestor alone also found an increase incidence of diabetes in those using Crestor.

My take is why not use products that both lower your risk of diabetes and lower your cardiovascular risk substantially.  In our practice we use the Plac Test to monitor vulnerable and dangerous plaque.  We have been able to lower Plac tests scores 30 to 40% using ProArg9.
